About Denver Lab School
Denver Lab School is a proposed new school located in the heart of downtown Denver, Colorado, serving students in middle and high school. The school will open in the Fall 2021, serving students in grades sixth, seventh, and eighth, and then adding a grade each year. As a microschool, Denver Lab School will offer a small school setting with individualized learning opportunities like no other school in Denver. With just 40 students per grade, students will learn and grow in an intimate environment that allows them to follow their individual passions. The school will also increase access to student-centered, inquiry-based, and experiential hands-on learning by offering generous financial aid in addition to its affordable tuition rate.
Denver Lab School will offer the greater-Denver community an exciting and unique option. Students will drive the direction of their learning under the mentorship and guidance of excellent teachers. The learning process is at its core an iterative one, where teachers and students design experiences that help them approach answers to the questions that most intrigue them. Leading research shows that when students are in control of their learning, their natural curiosity and joy will allow them to truly become lifelong learners.
At the Denver Lab School, we believe that learning must be deep, enduring, purposeful, and transferable. It is through the development and nurturing of this student-centered approach that we can confidently prepare young people to own their learning in college, career, and life.
