Students at School

The Road to Success Starts at Denver Lab School in Denver, CO

For students, middle school serves as the transition period from elementary school to high school -- the curriculum, educational approaches, and environment are all new. However, this is also the time when new and bigger opportunities will become available to your child. Denver Lab School recognizes this and has developed its middle school curriculum with this in mind.

Why Denver Lab School?

Our primary objective is to help our students develop a sense of independence, leadership, and improve their problem-solving skills while providing them with a high-quality education. To achieve this, we have constructed an extensive curriculum to support our students’ learning interests and passions while giving them the necessary tools to drive the direction of their learning under the mentorship and guidance of our excellent teachers.

Developing Future Leaders

To help our students maximize their growth and assist in their self-discovery, we at Denver Lab School are devoted to implementing valuable and unique learning opportunities into our curriculum. One way we do this is by structuring our classroom environments to be student-centered so students drive the direction of their learning and can make discoveries in the subjects they are passionate about. By helping our students discover their interests early on we hope they become the future leaders of their industries and peers.

Our Middle School Curriculum

To push our students to reach for success, the following areas of learning are what you can expect your child to experience and learn at Denver Lab School on top of our middle school curriculum:

  • Skill-focused learning

Our teaching approach and curriculum are based on learning useful skills, such as critical thinking and communication, rather than facts. We understand how vital academic learning is for the development of the students’ cognitive ability and we guarantee that they will experience massive growth in this and other useful skill areas.

  • Self-directed learning

While students will learn the required math, history, science and english curriculum they will also be encouraged to take learning outside of the classroom. At Denver Lab School we have set up a foundation for our students to become self-directed learners by encouraging them to want to learn more about the material that interests them through our student-centered learning approach. Each student brings their own strengths, passions, and purpose to our community from which they create and drive the direction of their learning.

  • Hands-on learning

At Denver Lab School we let our students explore and learn by actually experiencing a subject themselves. We have a profound and well-structured curriculum for each grade that  allows students to learn through observation, error, and correction. We believe this is important because it teaches students that it takes practice to be a master of something and how to learn from their mistakes.
